The
80’s Rock n Roll hairdresser
I started as an apprentice at Leonard’s
of Mayfair Daniel Galvin (http://www.danielgalvin.com)
and the world’s top colourist was my Teacher. Nicky
Clarke was also training with me at that time. My Boss Leonard
was responsible for doing the Hair of the Fab Four’s
legendry Mop Tops. His Clients included the worlds most glamorous
Movie Stars and Icons of the Fashion Industry, Twiggy, Zandra
Rhodes, even Frank Sinatra and President Kennedy. I could
go on for ever but this site is about me, but rest assured
I learnt from the very best.
After this 3 year period I left for the Vidal
Sassoon Academy to learn the very latest Geometric Cuts and
to my great fortune they were so impressed, they invited me
to join their new salon and run the colouring department.
Nice.
2 years of this and I was ready to go it
alone. I had the training from the best, worked with the best,
I had the talent, and most importantly I needed it.
I dedicated myself to Magazine, TV and Album
cover work, and this resulted in the opening of 4 amazing
salons in the trendiest parts of London. Each Salon was in
a way groundbreaking in salon design. This is still as passion
of mine and is also reflected in my new Studio in Bangkok
Thailand.
In London I became known as “Johny
Live The Rock n Roll Hairdresser” although my passion
was really for Classic and romantic cuts, but this name stuck
due to my working with Deff Leppard, Thin Lizzy, The Pogues,
Bad Company, The Communards, Anni Lennox to name but a few.
I even had the pleasure of consultations with Nicole Kidman,
Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep. To be honest there are too
many people to remember and many stories I cannot tell, but
it was amazing experience doing what I love and that is the
feeling of being able to make a woman look and feel more sensual
and in tune with her sexuality.
Life is somewhat more relaxed these
days (thank God) but my passion for hair has not changed.
I’ve opened a Studio In Bangkok and for the last 5 years
have been cutting and colouring the Bangkok elite, amazing
expat ladies, local media and TV personalities, it’s
a pleasure it really is. I do home and hotel visits and now
with my new studio I will be offering, strictly by appointment
only, consultations from there. No turning up without an appointment,
its not a Salon you know and that just would not be right
would it! I do not belong to any organisations, there is so
much more to hairdressing than learning just 5 Haircuts and
there are 50 Billion crimpers out there, but there is only
one Johny Live.
Enjoy the experience.
I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
